What is the difference between a Public Brain and a Private Brain?

Business Brain · 2026-06-17

The Public Brain contains information the business is happy for customers, search engines and AI systems to access: services, public policies, explanations, Q&A, locations, images and other approved facts. A Private Brain is for internal knowledge such as procedures, staff guidance, operational detail or sensitive material that should not be published. They can share an architecture without sharing permissions. A public Digital Twin can operate with only the public layer; a private layer is optional and separately controlled.

Vectors are excellent for finding semantically related material, but they are not the same thing as a controlled public source of truth.
